These are a type of propulsion arrangement through which a scaled down propeller is encased within a barrel-shaped shroud or duct. The function of the duct is to reduce the losses in thrust power while increasing the pressure and velocity of the airflow.
That kind fun fan in flying RC toys is an amalgamation of different parts arranged in such a way that it gives the airplane the power to take off into the air. These consist of the front housing flange, rotor cone, the fan rotor which acts as the impeller, ducted fan housing, motor, aft cone, and stator extension.
